High Speed Expansion

The high speed expansion (HSE) v1 connector exposes a number of high-speed interfaces directly into the SoC: 4x PCI Express Lanes,  SATA, USB, MIPI DSI and CSI. Any combination of these interfaces may be utilized on an HSE v1 add-on. (Only one add-on can be mounted on the board at a time.) See the Compare Boards page to verify which expansion connectors are on your board.

LSE v1

Low Speed Expansion

The low speed expansion (LSE) v1 header exposes a number of slow-speed interfaces buffered through a CPLD into the SoC: 10 GPIO, 1 Full UART, a 2 line UART, SPI and I2S, power at 3v3 and 5v and ground. All of these signals may be utilized on an LSE v1 add-on. (Only one add-on can be mounted on the board at a time.) See the Compare Boards page to verify which expansion headers are on your board.
